Shooting Investigation
On Saturday morning at approximately 0440 hours Johnson County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a county residence reporting a shooting incident where an occupant of the residence had been shot and was requesting an ambulance.
When Deputies from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the residence they observed a 22 year old male subject was the victim of a gunshot wound. EMS stabilized the victim and then transported him to a hospital in Kansas City where he remains in critical condition.
The shooting occurred when a male subject, who was a friend and acquaintance of the victim, fired a handgun inside of the residence striking and critically wounding the victim.
The suspect was taken into custody pending formal charges.
UPDATE: 05-11-20105 1550hrs.
The Johnson County Prosecutor has amended the charges from Assault 1st Degree to 2nd Degree Murder. The subject, Dominic Sacco remains in custody with a $50,000.00 Bond.
