The Johnson County Sheriff's Office was first formed in 1834. It exists to protect and serve the citizens of Johnson in a variety of ways. Through it's long history the office has seen and made many changes in a continuing effort to meet the law enforcement needs of the community. What first started as a small rural office has evolved into a modern technologically advanced crime fighting force that has earned the respect of the citizens we are sworn to protect and serve. Every day the men and women of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office strive to reduce the incidents of crime in our community and to seek out and prosecute those who refuse to live by the established rule of law.
The sheriff's office is comprised of eight different divisions each carrying out the statutorial duties and responsibilities of the Office of Sheriff. These divisions consist of the Administration, Patrol, D.A.R.E., Investigations, Jail, Court Security, K-9, Sheriff's S.W.A.T, Reserves, and A.C.E. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement) divisions. This web site has been developed as part of our effort to better serve the citizens of Johnson County. Contained on this site is information outlining the diverse operations of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. By logging onto our web site citizens can access important data on a variety of topics. Included on this site is information on Sex Offender Registration, Johnson County's Most Wanted, Jail Population (current incarcerations updated every 15 minutes), Press Releases, and current events. It is my sincere hope that this web site will serve to give the citizens of Johnson County a better understanding of the dedication and commitment of the men and women who serve in the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office by providing access to critical information that can often impact the quality of life for our citizens. Thank you for the honor and privilege to serve as your Sheriff.
